From the managing director

”Bringwell continues to display strong organic growth which, in local currencies, amounted to 10.5% during the first quarter. The profit per share, excluding intangible depreciation, amounted to 8 öre during the first quarter. Our EBITDA of SEK 30.2 million and EBITA of SEK 28.9 million are the group’s best since Q2 of 2009. The good development is reflected in the group’s cash-flow which amounted to SEK 22.9 million for the quarter as opposed to SEK 6.4 million the preceding year – considerably better than budgeted.

During the first quarter Bringwell has enjoyed the best development geographically in Sweden and Norway. In terms of channels the development was particularly strong within the Swedish pharmacy sector with an increase of 57%. Our assessment is that sales to the pharmacy sector will increase in the future and will become an increasingly important channel for Bringwell. At the end of the quarter Bringwell launched its first OTC medicine in the pharmacy channel and the introduction has developed well.

The newly acquired company Mass.FI, which offers sport nutrition to the Finnish market via the Internet, was consolidated from the first of April. The company is currently displaying a very satisfactory development and markets strong brands such as its own Mass Nutrition as well as Bringwell’s products WNT, Twinlab and Multipower.  With Mass.FI as a basis, Bringwell will be expanding the Internet-based activity both geographically as well as in terms of products.

Our future agenda includes a focus on continued growth, increasing profits and strong cash-flows. Bringwell hopes to be able to follow up with more licensing agreements during the year while, at the same time, parallel efforts are actively aimed at building up our own strong brands and making value-enhancing acquisitions. Bringwell is developing strongly at present. The start of the second quarter remains in line with the first. We have a clear ambition and enjoy good conditions for continuing to increase turnover as a result. We continue to look towards a bright future in which the company reinforces its position within all the channels in the Nordic region,” says Bringwell’s MD, David Rönneberg.
